Start your path toward becoming a licensed security guard in Ontario with our fully online training. Our Security Guard Licence Training is a comprehensive, Ministry-approved program designed to prepare you for a career in Ontario’s security industry. The course is fully online and self-paced, allowing you to complete your training on a schedule that works for you. The program covers the topics required by the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General, including security guard duties, legal responsibilities, emergency response, communication, report writing, and professional conduct.
How It Works:
Step 1: Register For Course
• Check your eligibility
• Complete your payment
Step 2: Study Online Course
• Get 24/7 access
• Study using any device, including a cellphone, tablet, or computer
• Watch module videos, complete practice tests, and prepare for the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General exam
Step 3: CPR and First Aid Training
• Attend the required in-person CPR and First Aid training session. Book your BasicEmergency First Aid training here.
Step 4: Receive TCN
• After completing all modules and practice tests, we will obtain your Training Completion Number from the Ministry
• Book your Ministry-administered exam at a designated DriveTest centre in Ontario
• You may also complete the Ministry exam online from home
Step 5: Pass Exam & Apply for License
• Obtain a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
• Apply for your Ontario Security Guard Licence
• Begin working as a security guard
• Our team will guide you through each stage of the training and licensing process

Course Duration
This online course is self-paced and can be completed at your own speed. Most students finish all modules in 2-3 weeks, but you can take as long as you need within the 90-day access period. The course includes interactive content, videos, and assessments to ensure you're fully prepared for your provincial exam.
Certificate
Upon successful completion of all course modules and assessments, you will receive your Training Completion Number (TCN). This TCN is required to book your Ontario Security Guard License exam. After passing the provincial exam, you can apply for your Security Guard License through Service Ontario.
