Babysitting Course Content
Our Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course in Ottawa teaches youth how to become responsible, caring, and confident babysitters. Participants learn how to keep children safe, make good decisions, and respond effectively during emergencies. The course includes interactive activities, games, role-playing, and teamwork to make learning practical and engaging.
Youth will learn how to feed, diaper, dress, supervise, and play safely with babies and children. The course also covers childhood development, recognizing and preventing unsafe situations, and creating a positive babysitting experience for both children and families. Participants will also learn how to start a babysitting business, communicate professionally with parents, and demonstrate reliability and responsibility.

Course Duration
Babysitting training in Ottawa typically lasts around 7 - 8 hrs of in class training. The class may typically run from 10AM - 5PM with ample time for breaks, snacks, and lunch throughout the day for our learners.
Certificate
Upon successful completion of the babysitting course, all participants will receive a Babysitting Certification + babysitting manual. In addition, our support team is more than happy to answer any ongoing questions our learners might have in the future!
