Respirator fit and fit testing Content

First Aid Connect’s N95 Mask Fit Testing is built on the program standard and procedures of 3M (the respirator mask manufacturer), the Ontario Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Labour. We follow all the guidelines laid out by the Canadian Standards Association and the National Institute of Health and Safety.

We fit test for each person in compliance with provincial health directives. We currently provide one on one testing at our convenient location in the east end of Ottawa (out of our Belfast Road Location). OSHA requires qualitative or quantitative fit testing before a user wears a mandatory respirator on the job, and must be assessed at least annually.

Mask Fit Testing Duration

Mask Fit Testing can be completed in 5-10 minutes, but each individual should be prepared to be with the tester for up to 15 minutes just in case.

Certificate

Upon successful completion of the mask fit test, the participans will receive a Mask Fit Certification valid for 2 years.
